HUBBOX S2 8-Port Industrial Switch

HUBBOX S2 8-Port Industrial Ethernet Switch User Manual

This manual provides technical instructions for the installation, redundant power configuration, and safe operation of the HUBBOX S2 8-Port industrial switch.

1. Product Introduction

The HUBBOX S2 is a high-durability network device engineered for factory automation, intelligent transportation systems (ITS), and IP camera networks. Its fanless metal housing and wide operating temperature range ensure reliable performance in the harshest industrial environments.

2. Technical Specifications

Specification Description
Port Count 8 x 10/100 Mbps RJ45 (Auto-MDI/MDI-X)
Input Voltage DC 9V - 58V (Wide Range)
Power Architecture Dual Power Input (Redundant)
Operating Temp. -40°C to +85°C
Protection Class IP40 Metal Alloy, 4KV-6KV Surge Protection

3. Hardware and Connections

3.1. Redundant Power Input

High Availability: The top-mounted green terminal block supports dual power inputs. This allows for simultaneous connection to a primary DC source and a backup (e.g., UPS or secondary rail supply).
  • P1+ / P1-: Primary power supply connection.
  • P2+ / P2-: Secondary (Backup) power supply connection.
  • GND: Chassis grounding terminal.

If the primary source (P1) fails, the switch seamlessly transitions to P2 within milliseconds, preventing network downtime or data loss.

4. Installation Steps

4.1. DIN-Rail Mounting

The device comes with a pre-installed 35mm DIN-rail bracket. Hook the top of the bracket onto the rail and press the bottom of the device until the locking clip "clicks" into place.

4.2. Grounding (Critical)

Safety First: To protect against static discharge and industrial EMI, the GND terminal must be connected to your cabinet's main earth ground line using an appropriate gauge wire.

5. LED Indicator Guide

LED Status Description
PWR SOLID GREEN Power supply is active.
Link/Act SOLID GREEN Physical network link established.
Link/Act FLASHING Data transmission in progress.
WLAN RED Module active (on supported models).

6. Troubleshooting

  • PWR LEDs Off: Check the DC voltage at the terminal block and ensure wires are stripped correctly and tightened.
  • Intermittent Data: Verify cable lengths do not exceed 100m and that Shielded (STP/FTP) cables are used in high-interference areas.
