HUBBOX S1 5-Port Industrial Switch

HUBBOX S1 5-Port Industrial Ethernet Switch User Manual

This manual provides technical instructions for the installation, redundant power configuration, and safe operation of the HUBBOX S1 5-Port unmanaged industrial switch.

Product Overview: The HUBBOX S1 is engineered for industrial environments where zero data loss is mandatory. Its standout feature is the Redundant Power architecture, ensuring operational continuity even in the event of a power supply failure.

1. Technical Specifications

Feature Description
Port Configuration 5 x 10/100 Mbps RJ45 (Auto-Sensing)
Input Voltage DC 9V - 58V
Power Interface 4-Pin Redundant Terminal Block
Operating Temp. -40°C to +85°C
Protection & Casing IP40 Metal Case, Reverse Polarity & Overcurrent Protection

2. Hardware and Power Panel Structure

The green terminal block located on the top panel features the following pinouts:

  • P1+ / P1-: Primary power supply input.
  • P2+ / P2-: Secondary (Backup) power supply input.
  • GND: Chassis grounding terminal.

3. Installation and Redundant Power Connection

3.1. Connecting Redundant Power (Critical)

To achieve high availability and prevent system downtime, follow these wiring steps:

  1. Primary Source: Connect your main DC power supply to the P1+ and P1- terminals.
  2. Secondary Source: Connect an independent backup source (e.g., UPS or secondary rail supply) to P2+ and P2-.
  3. Failover Logic: The switch draws power from both sources simultaneously. If P1 fails, the device switches to P2 within milliseconds, preventing network resets or data loss.

3.2. DIN-Rail Mounting

The device is designed for standard 35mm DIN rail mounting. Hook the rear clip onto the rail from the top and pivot downwards until the locking mechanism "clicks" into place.

Grounding Note: To mitigate industrial EMI (Electromagnetic Interference), the GND terminal must be bonded to the panel's main earth ground line.

4. LED Indicator Guide

LED Status Description
PWR GREEN Power input is active.
WLAN RED Wireless module active (on supported models).
Link/Act FLASHING Network activity detected on the corresponding port.
