HUBBOX S3 5-Port Industrial Switch Gbit

HUBBOX S3 5-Port Gigabit Industrial Switch User Manual

This manual contains technical details for the installation and safe operation of the HUBBOX S3, an unmanaged industrial switch supporting 1000Mbps Gigabit speeds.

High-Speed Connectivity: Designed for data centers and automation environments where high-resolution imaging or heavy data traffic is required. Features a Redundant Power architecture for maximum uptime.

1. Technical Specifications

Specification Details
Port Configuration 5 x 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 (Gigabit)
Input Voltage DC 9V - 58V (Wide Range)
Power Interface 4-Pin Redundant Terminal Block
Operating Temp. -40°C to +85°C
Protection IP40 Metal Housing, Overcurrent & Reverse Polarity Protection
Max Distance 100 Meters (using Cat6 or higher)

2. Hardware and Power Structure

The top-mounted green terminal block provides the following connections:

  • P1+ / P1-: Primary (Main) DC power input.
  • P2+ / P2-: Secondary (Backup) DC power input.
  • GND: Chassis grounding terminal.

3. Installation and Redundant Power

3.1. Redundant Power Connection

For zero-downtime operation, it is recommended to utilize both power inputs:

  1. Main Source (P1): Connect your primary DC supply to the P1 terminals.
  2. Backup Source (P2): Connect an independent secondary source (UPS or battery) to P2.
  3. Switchover Logic: If P1 power is lost, the device seamlessly switches to P2 within milliseconds without data loss.

3.2. DIN-Rail Mounting

Hook the rear bracket onto the 35mm DIN rail and press the bottom of the unit until the locking mechanism "clicks" securely.

Grounding: To ensure signal integrity at Gigabit speeds, the GND terminal must be connected to the panel's main earth ground line.

4. LED Indicator Guide

LED Status Description
PWR GREEN Power supply is active.
Link/Act SOLID GREEN 1000Mbps (Gigabit) link established.
Link/Act SOLID YELLOW 10/100Mbps link established.
WLAN RED Module active (on supported models).

5. Safety & Troubleshooting

  • Gigabit Performance: Ensure you are using Shielded (STP) Cat6 or higher cables. Standard Cat5e may not sustain full Gigabit speeds over long distances.
  • Heat Dissipation: The fanless metal housing acts as a heat sink. Ensure adequate clearance around the device for natural air convection.
  • Connection Issues: If speeds are capped at 100Mbps, inspect the cable pins and verify the connected device supports Gigabit Ethernet.
