What is CM02?
What is HUBBOX CM02 Current Meter?
HUBBOX CM02 is a 2-channel current measurement (Current Meter) device designed to monitor energy consumption in industrial facilities and machinery. Communicating over the Modbus TCP protocol, this module reads real-time current data from connected lines, providing essential data for efficiency analysis and predictive maintenance processes.
Key Features and Advantages
- 2-Channel Current Measurement: Ability to monitor the current consumption of two different lines simultaneously.
- AC Current Measurement: Works compatibly with standard current transformers (CT) to safely measure high current values.
- Modbus TCP Support: Direct data transfer to PLC, SCADA, and Cloud platforms over Ethernet.
- Compact Design: DIN Rail type enclosure that occupies minimum space in industrial panels.
- High Sampling Rate: Fast data processing to capture energy fluctuations and instantaneous consumption changes.
Modbus Poll Connection Guide
You can use the Modbus Poll software to read instantaneous current values from the HUBBOX CM02. The connection steps and parameters are outlined below:
Default Network Settings:
• IP Address:
• Subnet Mask:
• TCP Port:
• IP Address:
192.168.24.251• Subnet Mask:
255.255.255.0• TCP Port:
502Step-by-Step Connection Setup
- In Modbus Poll, navigate to "Connection > Connect".
- Set the connection type to "Modbus TCP/IP".
- Enter
192.168.24.251in the IP Address field and click "Connect". - Once connected, open the "Setup > Read/Write Definition" window to view the current values.
Modbus Register Table (Sample Addresses)
| Data Type | Address | Name / Description | Access |
|---|---|---|---|
| Input Registers (04) | 30001 | Channel 1 Current Value (mA or Scaled) | Read Only |
| Input Registers (04) | 30002 | Channel 2 Current Value (mA or Scaled) | Read Only |
| Holding Registers (03) | 40004 - 40007 | Device IP Address Configuration | Read/Write |
| Holding Registers (03) | 40035 | CT Ratio / Calibration Coefficient | Read/Write |
Technical Support and Installation Notes
Caution: When making current transformer connections, ensure the device power is disconnected and CT leads are connected to the correct channels (paying attention to L-N orientation).
- Communication Status: The Link/Act LED on the device indicates data traffic on the Ethernet network. If the LED is off, check your cable connections.
- Factory Reset: If you cannot access the device IP, you can use the reset button to restore the device to its factory settings.
- Energy Monitoring: CM02 is an ideal data source for "machine-based costing" in energy efficiency projects.
