Remote Access to DELTA PLC

Delta Electronics Remote Connection Guide

Hubbox Connect series devices provide secure worldwide access to Delta DVP, AS, and AH series PLCs, DOP-100 HMI panels, and MS300/VFD drive systems. This guide explains how to connect to your systems via ISPSoft, DCISoft, and DOPSoft software.

Connection and Configuration Steps

  • VPN Activation: Launch the Hubbox Desktop Client and establish a connection to your site device. Ensure the virtual VPN adapter has received an IP address.
  • COMMGR Configuration: Open Delta's communication driver software, COMMGR. Click "Add" to create a new driver and set the Type to "Ethernet".
  • IP Targeting: Enter your PLC's local IP address (e.g., 192.168.1.5) directly into the "IP Address" field. Since the "Search" function may not work over VPN, manual IP entry is required.
  • Software Selection: Within ISPSoft or WPLSoft, go to "Tools -> Communication Settings". Select the driver you created in COMMGR and click "OK".
  • Going Online: Compile your project and click the "Online Mode" icon. You can now perform program upload or download operations.
Technical Tip: When establishing a remote connection for Delta PLCs, ensure that COMMGR is listening to the Hubbox VPN adapter (usually the Tap-Windows Adapter). If you encounter connection errors, verify that the correct network card is selected in the COMMGR driver settings.

Supported Delta Software and Models

Software Group Supported Models Protocol
ISPSoft / WPLSoft DVP-ES/EX/SS/SX/SV, AS200/300, AH500 Series Ethernet / Modbus TCP
DOPSoft DOP-B, DOP-W, DOP-100 Series Touch Panels TCP/IP (Ethernet)

VFDSoft / DriveWizard MS300, C2000, CP2000, VFD-E/EL Drives Modbus TCP

Common Issues and Solutions

If you experience connection drops in Delta systems, try disabling the "Auto-Detect" feature in COMMGR and define a manual Station Address. If you are accessing the PLC through an HMI, ensure the HMI's "Ethernet Passthrough" feature is active.

Warning: For devices with built-in Ethernet ports like DVP-SE or AS series, setting the "IP Gateway" address to the Hubbox LAN IP address is mandatory for packets to exit through the VPN tunnel.
